Miroslav Jovanović
Systemic Psychotherapist
I'm Miroslav Jovanović, a systemic psychotherapist. I earned my education at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade, where I completed both bachelor's and master's studies in social work, and then trained in psychotherapy at the European-accredited institute of the Association of Systemic Therapists.
I've shaped my professional identity over years of working with people who have survived complex traumatic experiences. Since 2021, I've been head of the Service for the Coordination of Protection of Victims of Human Trafficking, where I've encountered the most complex professional challenges, worked in crisis situations, and developed systemic models of support for people in the most critical life periods.
I've led various projects in this field, designed and delivered trainings on communication, interviewing, and support for vulnerable groups — for psychologists, police, prosecutors, judges, social workers, and educators. I've organized numerous international and domestic professional gatherings.
Professional Work
Seminars, trainings, and workshops
A glimpse into Miroslav's work through seminars, professional trainings, educational events, and workshops.
In therapy I most often work with topics of self-confidence, self-image, anxiety, family and partner relationships. I help clients become aware of their strengths, set boundaries, and start standing up for themselves — to strengthen their parenting capacities, reconnect with their partner, and learn to communicate better.
I think my biggest strengths in this work are empathy and a naturally non-judgmental approach — but you'll be the best judge of that once we get to know each other.
You won't experience judgment or cold criticism from me. I usually build trust easily with clients and strive to help them feel comfortable and safe during sessions — not to indulge them, but because I know how much courage it takes to question oneself and make a change, and I have great respect for people who commit to that journey.
I'm not one of those therapists who just listens, nods, and asks, "And how do you feel about that?" I try to actively participate in the session and give my clients as much as I can. I aim to encourage them to take the step and make the change they want — but at a pace that suits them.
I try to stay aware of my own limitations and shortcomings, and I don't take on topics where I don't have the competence. Feedback from you matters to me, and I always want to hear what my clients think about the process we're in together.
Sometimes all that's needed is a shift in perspective — seeing your situation from a different angle to set a big change in motion. I invite you to reach out so we can look at your situation through a slightly different lens.
I also work alongside other young, empathetic, and dedicated therapists, whom I can recommend based on your needs and the areas you'd like to work on.
