Miroslav Jovanović - psychotherapist

Let's get to know each other

My name is Miroslav Jovanović, and I am a systemic family therapist. I work with individuals, couples, and families, and I have extensive experience supporting people who have gone through difficult periods in life, from the most traumatic events and various forms of abuse to everyday challenges in romantic and family relationships, at work, with friends, or within themselves, especially when it comes to self-image and self-worth. I believe that my greatest strengths in therapy are empathy and a naturally non-judgmental approach, but you will be the best judge of that when we meet. I am not one of those therapists who simply listen, nod, and ask, "How do you feel about that?". I strive to take an active role in each session and to offer my clients as much as I can. My goal is to encourage you to take the step forward and make the change you want, always at a pace that feels right for you.

With deep empathy, understanding, and dedication, through my alliance with clients, I help them develop their strengths, resilience, and ability to cope with everyday challenges — to feel safe, valued, and create a life on their own terms.

I approach each client individually, tailoring my work to their needs and goals. Whether you want to achieve professional success, learn to set boundaries, stand up for yourself, reconnect with your partner, improve parenting skills, overcome life's losses, or restore your self-esteem and self-confidence — you set the goal we work on together.

What does psychotherapy look like?

In my work, I use a modern systemic approach based on well-established scientific knowledge, focused on the client and tailored to their individual needs.

I approach every client without judgment or imposing my own values, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Sessions are usually scheduled once a week and last 50 minutes. We work in cycles of 4 sessions, at the end of which we evaluate the results that have been achieved.

I prepare carefully for each session and closely follow your development, while also consulting with experienced and respected supervisors.

Between sessions, the client receives topics for reflection or small tasks from me, intended to safely and gradually move them out of their comfort zone and encourage personal growth with my support.

Online work follows the same principles, and I use different apps such as Viber, WhatsApp, Zoom, Google Meet, and others. It is important that no other people are present in the room besides the client (or multiple clients, in the case of family therapy), that privacy is ensured, and that the camera is turned on so that we can maintain visual contact.

In-person sessions take place in a specially adapted space in the center of Belgrade, where you can settle in comfortably and, with a cup of tea or coffee, dedicate time to yourself. This setting gives you time and space just for you, so that in a safe atmosphere you can explore yourself and your relationships with other people, while receiving support and encouragement for change.

Client experiences

"Here I found understanding and support that helped me realize how much I'm truly capable of — much more than I thought, and more than others believed."

Dragana

"When I looked in the mirror after a month of therapy, for the first time in a long time, I didn't feel contempt — I felt understanding. A few months later, I started enjoying my reflection and respecting myself."

Tanja

"I love the feeling of safety I have when I walk into this practice."

Staša

"What matters to me is that the therapy didn't drag on endlessly — we focused on the specific problems I presented."
